Greenhouse

The building's exterior at night.

The greenhouse is a location featured in the Bible Black: New Testament anime series.

It is a large glass building, presumably used as a botanical garden. The structure seems to have long been abandoned and vandalized, as most of the glass panels are broken. There is also a considerable amount of rust on the frame.

The inside is quite spacious, and contains multiple stone planters with bushes and what appear to be palm trees.

The greenhouse sits on higher ground, on an embankment of sorts, possibly in a park or forested area. There is a wooden no trespassing sign next to the area. A stall that sells ice cream can also be found nearby.

History

Imari and Yuge investigate the place.

Tokken visit

Kurumi Imari, an agent of the paranormal investigation team Tokken, makes her way to the greenhouse, leaving her colleague Aki Ichikawa behind on a bench. Their boss Toru Yuge later meets up with Imari inside the building, finding her in deep thought with her eyes closed. She tells him she heard something.

Immersed by an evil aura

Sometime later, at night, the greenhouse is used a staging ground of sorts for Imari, her body now controlled by the evil witch Reika Kitami. She gathers her followers there and overpowers her nemesis Hiroko Takashiro, who has made her way to the location after sensing an evil aura. The witch utilizes a magic circle that appears on the tiled floor of the building and sexually assaults Takashiro on top of it.

Yuge and Takashiro visit the seemingly restored greenhouse.

The panels are repaired

The greenhouse appears one last time when Takahsiro, Yuge and former police officer Naoto Yamanishi visit the location. The building has seemingly been repaired, at least partially. Many glass panels near the base are now intact. They inspect the building as Yamanishi meanwhile orders ice cream from a stall nearby.

Trivia

  • The background and significance of the greenhouse remain unknown. In the third episode of the New Testament series, Takashiro tells Imari/Kitami she saw 'an evil aura surrounding the area' . However, this could just be due to the witch' presence. This same aura could have been what led Imari to the area in the first episode, but no explanation is ever given.
  • A possible explanation could be that, because the series starts with several scenes of mysterious murders, the greenhouse is simply another location where one took place.
  • The apparent restoration of the glass panels at the end of the final episode is left unexplained. However, it could also be that the panels had always been intact, but were never before seen from this angle.
