Aleister Crowley is an unseen character from the Bible Black: New Testament anime series, based on the real world English occultist from the early half of the 20th century. He is the grandfather of Jody Crowley. Crowley founded the religious philosophy of Thelema.
Crowley's beliefs and legacy relate to the main story and plot of the Bible Black: New Testament series, in which his mysterious granddaughter and magic user Jody attempts to fulfill his doctrine.
The Scarlet Woman
After Crowley died, some of his followers continued to search for the so called Scarlet Woman or woman in red, the Devil's partner mentioned in Thelema that represents female sexual impulse and the liberated woman. She was prophesied in the Book of RevelationsWP to give birth to an omnipotent being.
Crowley's granddaughter Jody was first believed to be the Scarlet Woman and admired by Aleister's cult following. They worshiped the girl as their new leader, who had inherited some of her grandfather's powerful magic abilities and knowledge. To fulfill the prophecy, Jody set out to find the true woman in red, eventually believing it to be the young Tokken agent Aki Ichikawa.
Jody later unsuccessfully attempts to impregnate Aki during her Ritual of Coronzon in the Academy basement to give birth to the 'the one that will rule the world' - likely referring to the goddess Scarlet Woman.
- As a student, Kaori Saeki had numerous books on the occult in her extensive collection at home, including at least one publication by Aleister Crowley.
- An open page of the Bible Black is visible in the sixth episode of the New Testament anime series, seen in this screenshot. The page contains an excerpt from The Formation Of The Tree Of Life Being A Qabalistic Conception Of The Creative Process, the first chapter of the book Q.B.L by occultist Charles Stansfeld JonesWP, a member of Aleister Crowley's cult. This would seem to imply that Crowley or his followers were also once in possession of the book and made their own additions.
Summoned by his granddaughter.
